Bacon + Brew Draws Crowd To Downtown

This past Saturday there was quite the crowd in downtown Danbury, as fans of bacon, beer, and live music gathered on the CityCenter Green.

The first-ever gated event, the Bacon + Brew Festival, was put on by Townsquare Media in conjunction with CityCenter Danbury. A portion of the day's proceeds from ticket sales and beer sales went to CityCenter, to help fund the free events the organization holds throughout the year.

We chose to go with the local Connecticut brews by Shebeen, Beaver Beer, Thomas Hooker, and Stony Creek.

All the food vendors served up bacon-centric dishes.

On hand to feed the hungry crowd was Danbury's own Mima's Meatballs, Gallucci's, and Green Grunion as well as Sal's Food Truck, Bull + Barrell, Romy's BBQ, Hog Wild BBQ, Calandrelli Kettle Corn, Baskin Robbins and more.

Through the day, there was live music by Unclaymed, Them Bones, Quicksand Planet, Black Rock Social, Cracker, and headliner Leslie West.

We had a great time. From the looks of it, so did a lot of other people too.
