Get Hacked!

This Saturday Danbury is getting hacked…

Don’t panic … It will be a day of innovation, technology and social media as the 2nd annual Mad Hackers event takes over the Danbury Green.

We had a great time at last year's inaugural event and this year promises to be bigger and better.

There will be live music, a bevy of food trucks, maker exhibits and interactive displays. Activities for young and old include 3D printing and scanning, drones and quacopters, robotics, a sodering workshop and more. Plus, there is a full lineup of speakers for those who wish to learn about social media marketing for themselves or business! Topics include everything from the basics of Twitter to the best practices for LinkedIn and Constant Contact to how to become a marketing god.

If that wasn't enough, we just heard that The Savings Bank of Danbury will be raffling off  two 3D printers at the event!

The event is Saturday, June 7th from 10am to 5pm on the Danbury Green. Tickets are $10 for ages 12 and up, and $5 for kids ages 3 to 11. You can buy your in advance online or at the event.

Proceeds from the MadHackers event will benefit the non-profit Danbury Hackerspace opening at the new Innovation Center at 158 Main Street. The Danbury Hackerspace is a new technology center where people can learn about technology like 3D printing, programming, art, electronics, and manufacturing. It also has a co-working space where people can come down to Main Street and work with other people.
