I love Fridays, especially in summer. And as of June 28th there is yet another reason to love Fridays here in the Hat City. The Danbury Farmers' Market is now open for business in Kennedy Park every Friday from 11:30am to 5:30pm until Oct. 25th.
Get your fruits, vegetables, bread, sweets and more.

On opening day I couldn't resist trying Beldotti's free samples of multi-grain bread with their housemade pesto and housemade fresh mozzarella (also for sale). Wow. Really good. And while this time I exerted some serious will-power and resisted the amazing-looking sweets from Green Leaf Bakery, I did buy a fresh, crispy baguette. I have a sweet tooth, so resistance may be futile next time.
We walked away with arms full of fresh, local produce. When we got back to our office to examine our bounty, we realized we forgot to pick up some of those local eggs. Put that on the list for next time.
Walk, drive, just get to the market. There's nothing like fresh, local food. Hope to see you there.Labels: danbury, downtown, farmers market
