With nothing on our agenda for a lazy Sunday afternoon, we decided to head to the Spring flea market at the Heirloom Arts Theatre on Main Street in Danbury.
Normally a venue for showcasing local and national rock bands, it was kind of cool to be at the Heirloom for something a little different. The Heirloom Flea Market, which brings together local artists and craftspeople, started in 2011 and has been growing every year.
I hate to admit it, but even though we know a couple of the vendors, this was our first time actually going to the event. I don't know what took us so long.
It was cool to see the eclectic mix of wares for sale: seedlings, photographs, handmade jewelry, comic books, vintage clothing and home accessories, records, pocket sketchbooks, wallets, furniture, knit and crochet items, and more.
I refrained from buying anything this time, but I did really dig the handmade wallets made out of scrap leather by our good friend Gina. Alicia couldn't resist buying (yet another) knit scarf.
