Heirloom Flea Market

With nothing on our agenda for a lazy Sunday afternoon, we decided to head to the Spring flea market at the Heirloom Arts Theatre on Main Street in Danbury.

Normally a venue for showcasing local and national rock bands, it was kind of cool to be at the Heirloom for something a little different. The Heirloom Flea Market, which brings together local artists and craftspeople, started in 2011 and has been growing every year.

I hate to admit it, but even though we know a couple of the vendors, this was our first time actually going to the event. I don't know what took us so long. It was cool to see the eclectic mix of wares for sale: seedlings, photographs, handmade jewelry, comic books, vintage clothing and home accessories, records, pocket sketchbooks, wallets, furniture, knit and crochet items, and more.

I refrained from buying anything this time, but I did really dig the handmade wallets made out of scrap leather by our good friend Gina. Alicia couldn't resist buying (yet another) knit scarf.

The next Heirloom Flea Market will be Sunday, June 23rd from 12noon to 5pm.
